Bodhgaya, located in Bihar, is a revered site for Buddhists worldwide as it is the place where Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree. The town’s tranquil ambiance is enriched by meditation centers and monasteries representing various Buddhist traditions. Iconic dishes include Banarasi Paan, a betel leaf preparation symbolic of the city’s hospitality, and Kachori Sabzi, a spicy lentil-stuffed bread served with vegetable curry.
